Ci-Net was established in 2001 under Law No. (2) of 2001 and commenced its actual business in April, 2003 as a independent commercial body involved in collecting and maintaining data for the mutual benefit of the financial institutions in Kuwait subject to the Central Bank of Kuwait and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry supervision.
Ci-Net is fully owned by several shareholders including banks and financial institutions. They oversee its businesses according to the policies and practices approved by the Board of Directors.
Ci-Net does not offer credit nor act as a debt collection agency. It functions in line with the applicable laws of Kuwait and particularly data privacy and consumer protection regulations. It also acts as 'Trustee' of credit and personal data gathered from the lending community and continues to do business entirely based on data contributed by lenders for sharing purposes.
